Navigate–the National School Choice Resource Center is a new 501(c)(3) public charity that works alongside our sister organization, the National School Choice Awareness Foundation (NSCAF), to inform, inspire, and empower parents to discover and navigate K–12 education options for their children. Navigate collaborates with NSCAF on the successful deployment of National School Choice Week, schoolchoiceweek.com, and Conoce tus Opciones Escolares (Know Your School Options). In addition, Navigate focuses on three strategic areas:
Building Comprehensive Parent Awareness Campaigns, in partnership with local and state organizations, to increase parent awareness of K–12 education options by: conducting in-depth state needs assessments; developing state-focused online resources for families; launching large-scale media parent-focused advertising; and providing training, media relations support, and content development assistance to our nonprofit partners.
Empowering Hispanic and Latino Family Empowerment programming expands awareness of K–12 school choice and supplementary education programs nationwide by developing and promoting new, large-scale Spanish-language school navigation resources for parents, and and by building parent empowerment campaigns with local and state partners, and by providing training to local partners to deploy Spanish-language outreach campaigns.
Launching an Empowerment Fund to support local- and state-level nonprofits so they can retain navigators, pursue community-based parent activities, host large-scale events, and help build local and state capacities for future parent empowerment.
Navigate’s mission is to inform, inspire, and empower parents across America to successfully discover, navigate, and access the K–12 school choice options and supplementary education programs that best meet their children’s interests, talents, needs, and challenges.
Navigate’s work is oriented around an ambitious vision for a brighter, more prosperous, opportunity-filled, and more educated America in which all children and families have equal opportunities for success. Our specific goals are as follows:
